My baby sister is getting married. I have been talking about blogging her engagement session for months, but every time I sit down to write about it I have had a hard time finding just the right words. I keep telling myself there is no reason to be emotional, but in reality it is hard not to when I start thinking about just how much she means to me.

I am going to sit here, write from my heart, and let the tears flow freely if they come.

Beth is strong. She is independent. She is beautiful. She is stubborn, and hilarious, and sometimes she can get a serious case of the "hangries." She is protective. She is sincere. She is inspiring. She is the world's greatest aunt. She is the absolute best person to go on an adventure with... and she has been my best friend for a very long time now.

Beth has been with me through my highs and lows, and has loved me through my bests and worsts. She protects my secrets, guides me through my fears, and celebrates my accomplishments.

So yes, there is a reason I am posting this at 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday. As this officially posts, I have the honor of standing next to Beth as she starts her greatest adventure yet.

She has found someone to share her heart and build a life with, and I can't imagine anyone better than Eric.

Eric is down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and fun to be around. He is just the right combination of trouble and cuddle to be the kind of uncle every kid needs, and he stepped into that role seamlessly. I love the way he makes her smile, and the way he takes care of her. He puts up with our large, loud, crazy family so well it must be be meant to be.

I am so happy for the two of them, because I know they make each other happy and I truly believe they deserve wonderful things in this life.

Congratulations, Beth and Eric. We love you.
